An unprecedented combination of fast acquisition speed, multicolour imaging, high spatial resolution and penetration depth allows seeing both structure and function.

Photon Etc.'s preclinical infrared imager is a multispectral infrared imaging system for in vivo studies in small animals or living organisms. IR VIVO™ offers multispectral imaging using a filter wheel and hyperspectral imaging with a continuously tunable spectral range from 850 nm to 1620 nm and a spectral resolution of < 4 nm. By virtue of high-efficiency filters and high-speed scientific grade SWIR cameras,  IR VIVO™ can accurately isolate the emission of several IR labels. The imager provides the perfect tool for all applications that involve detection in the second biological window.

This video shows the conceptual difference between hyperspectral global imaging and raster scan (line-scan, push-  broom). With global imaging, the gain in acquiring 3D data, 2D  spatial and 1D spectral, is important since the  only a few monochromatic images are required to cover the complete  spectral range where one  needs to take the full spectrum for each point or  line in the image with other technologies.
